I'm Home

Hey Everyone!

Hope you are all doing well, as you can see from my title I'm home now. I have now completed one full contract with Celebrity on the Infinity, and I really enjoyed myself.

The last few weeks of cruising were good, we were still doing the same Alaska run so not a lot to report about, the weather stunk, the scenery was still beautiful, the friends onboard were still great. My Birthday party on the pier was a sucess, thanks to those that came out. It was so great to see everyone that came, and have some friends from the ship come out and meet everyone.

I'm not planning to do a lot on my vacation, visit my friend Nikki and her family in the Okanagan and maybe a shopping trip to Seattle, but otherwise, will be sticking around Victoria doing some photography and visiting with friends and family. If you want to chat I'll be staying with Mom and Dad and can be reached there.

I've received my letter of employment for my next contract, and as it stands so far, I'll be joining the Galaxy on December 5th as an apprentice purser. The ship will be in Rome when I join, so hopefully I'll have a chance to see the sites there the afternoon and evening that I arrive to meet the ship, as I won't meet the ship until the day after I arrive. The ship will not be staying in Europe though, my first cruise on the ship will be a trans-atlantic, so it will stop in a couple of places in Morocco, as well as 3 stops in the Canary Islands, before we have 5 sea days across the atlantic, and then it'll be through the British Virgin Islands before we hit Puerto Rico, our main point of turn around for the winter season in the Caribbean. And boy do I need a warm place to go, I hardly got any sun this summer, and am definitely feeling deprived of Vitamin D!

Before leaving the ship, I received a performance review, and the financial controller really seemed to like me - LOL - out of 7 catagories, I received 2 meets expectations, and 5 exceeds expectations, so I'm very happy with that, and I expect that this will really help me with my promotion to Guest Account Purser. He has also asked me to contact him by email as soon as I've reached the Galaxy, so that he can speak to the financial controller on my ship about me, and the progress I should be making towards that next position. I'm very excited about that, as I really want to move on from Apprentice purser as soon as I can.

Anyways, keep in touch while I'm here in Victoria on vacation, as I will definitely need something to do with 2 and a half months of not working!
